End Of A Long Week

It has been a very looooong week. Rachel left last Sunday for a summer job in South Carolina. Her girl stalled in Georgia, but after ten or fifteen minutes it started again. We still do not know why it stalled. It makes me nervous not knowing whether her car is reliable when she is so far away. We do have family there so I know she will be ok but it still makes me worry.
Then that same night Ariel turned on the oven to preheat. I was sitting outside when she came to the door and beckoned me in with her finger and a strange look on her face. I went back in and she said, "there's a fire." Very quiet, almost calm. I go in the kitchen and there is a pretty big fire in the oven. The only thing I could think was to grab a bag of flour and start throwing it on the flames. If it was grease, water would just make it worse. I finally got it out. God, what a mess! I cleaned all the flour up the next day but I still need to finish cleaning the rest of it up. I think Ariel was in shock. She came down and told me later that flour could actually contain small explosive particles. So I went out the next day and bought a small fire extinquisher. After the fact but I want to be prepared if it ever happens again.
